This week we will have a viewing party in our school gym for the solar eclipse. Friday is also a half day of school. Students will visit our school library on Monday.
5th grade- Students will complete Unit 6 in their vocabulary study. We will complete a unit in their grammar study. Students will begin Hatchet this week as their final novel study. We will complete many creative writing prompts.
6th grade- Students will continue to read in their class novel, Restart. We will complete unit 12 and 13 in Wordly Wise. We will review pronouns in our grammar books. We will begin an argumentative essay. We will do a creative writing project about a solar eclipse. Students will study Emily Dickinson and Robert Frost this week for poetry month.
7th grade- Students will complete two units in Wordly Wise. We will continue to read in our class novel, Divergent. Students will study Poe, Robert Frost and Langston Hughes for poetry month.
8th grade- Students will study T.S.Eliot, Gertrude Stein, Ezra Pound and Walt Whitman for poetry month. We will review WV authors such as Cynthia Rylant and Pearl Buck. We will continue to do Wordly Wise this week completing unis 14-15. We will continue to read in our class novel.
