It’s hard to believe it is already the month of April. April is a fun month in ELA because it is National Poetry Month. We will study the types of poetry and many famous poets throughout history.
5th grade- We will begin our class novel which will be Hatchet. We will complete grammar lessons about Quotations, initials and abbreviations. Students will learn about acrostic and haiku poems.
6th grade- Students will continue to read in our class novel. We will study pronouns in grammar this week. We will complete lessons 12-13 in Wordly Wise. Students will learn about acrostic and haiku poems.
7th grade- This week students will continue to read in their class novels. We will complete lessons 11-13 in Wordly Wise. Students will study famous poets and literary periods this week. Poets will include TS Eliot, Gertrude Stein, Walt Whitman, Langston Hughes and Ezra Pound.
8th Grade-
