First Grade Updates

ELA:
Review Unit 9, Week 2 in our Superkids curriculum.
Word Work– students will identify memory words: boy, girl, two, four, about, over, before & spelling words: don’t, won’t, can’t
Reading– students will read fluently and understand literary and informational texts, read and understand new vocabulary.
Writing-students will generate ideas for a personal narrative
Math: Students are working through Unit 7 using the counting sequence to count to 120. Students will be taking their test this week.
Science: Students are working through a unit on living things
Social Studies: Students will be working on a unit on Symbols and Traditions of the United States. We are also studying several Presidents and completing Character Studies.
Reminders:
- Please remember to check your child’s yellow folder each day.
- NO SCHOOL MONDAY for the observance of President’s Day
- Fish Fry is each Friday this month
