First Grade Updates

ELA:
This week we are working through Unit 4, Week 1 in our Superkids curriculum.
Word Work– students will practice decoding and encoding er for /er/ and ed for /ed/, read a decodable story with /er/ & /ed/ words, identify memory words: look, your, the, was, are & for Spell: after, never, better, winter, summer, rested, twisted, planted, printed, & acted
Reading– students will read fluently and understand literary and informational texts, read and understand new vocabulary.
Writing-students write a personal narrative
Math: Students will complete review activities and prepare for their Unit 3 test.
Science: Students will finish the unit on earth and sky and prepare for their test
Social Studies: students will be studying geography of the community
Reminders:
Please remember to check your child’s orange folder each day.
Homework packets come home each Monday and are due the following Monday. Spelling tests are on Fridays.
