First Grade Updates

ELA:
This week we are working through Unit 5, Week 2 in our Superkids curriculum.
Word Work– students will practice decoding and encoding /ck/ for /k/ words, read a decodable story with /ck/ words, identify memory words: there, from, be, we, or, to Spell: flipped, flipping, stepped, stepping
Reading– students will read fluently and understand literary and informational texts, read and understand new vocabulary.
Writing-students will plan a description of personality traits for a character they create
Math: Students will begin reviewing for the test on Unit 4 Subtraction Facts to 20: Use Strategies
Science: Topic 4 Weather & Seasons
Social Studies: students will continue studying geography of the community
