First Grade Updates

ELA:
This week we are working through Unit 6, Week 2 in our Superkids curriculum.
Word Work– students will practice decoding and encoding words with “magic e”, identify/spell memory words: said, only, you, out, of, here
Spell: game, same, ride, side
Reading– students will read fluently and understand literary and informational texts, read and understand new vocabulary.
Writing-students will be working on writing an informative paragraph
Math: Students are working through Unit 5 (Addition & Subtraction Equations)
Science: Students are working through a unit on Weather & Seasons
Social Studies: Students will be taking a unit assessment on geography of the community
Reminders:
- Please remember to check your child’s yellow folder each day.
- Homework is sent home each Monday & is due the following Monday
