First Grade Updates

ELA:
This week we are working through Unit 6, Week 1 in our Superkids curriculum.
Word Work– students will practice decoding and encoding words with long vowels, identify memory words: said, only, you, out, of, here
Spell: go, no, so, be, he, me, she, we, hi, flu
Reading– students will read fluently and understand literary and informational texts, read and understand new vocabulary.
Writing-students will complete descriptive writing and begin informative writing
Math: Students are taking their test on unit 4 & will begin Unit 5 (Addition & Subtraction Equations) later this week
Science: Students are working through a unit on Weather & Seasons
Social Studies: Students are working through a unit on geography of the community
Reminders:
- Please remember to check your child’s yellow folder each day.
- Homework is sent home each Monday & is due the following Monday
