Hello! This week we will take a field trip on Friday to see The Nutcracker. Congrats to Taylor and Luci for winning my persuasive writing contest. We will have lunch at Chipotle this week.
5th Grade- This week we will take a spelling test on Friday. We will use the words from the week before break. We will complete context clues and reference skills in our vocabulary lesson. We will continue to read in our class novel. We will begin our Magic Tree project. Students will read the Magic Tree House book that they chose and complete a project. The project is due on Monday. The assignment is posted to our Google classroom.
6th Grade- This will be a catch up week for 6th grade students. This week we will take a spelling test on Friday. We will use the words from the week before break. We will complete Lessons 4-5 in Wordly Wise. We will study active/passive voice and appositives in our grammar books. We will start our writing project on Friday.
7th Grade- We will continue to read in our class novel. Students will analyze The Raven for figurative language and learn to annotate. We will begin our persuasive writing assignment this week.
8th Grade- Students will complete class novel this week. We will begin our end of the novel writing assignment. Students will complete Wordly Wise 4-5 this week. We will discuss sonnets this week while analyzing William Shakespeare’s Sonnet 18.
