Weekly Update 5-8th Grade ELA
5th Grade- This week we will have a spelling test on Friday. We will read in our class novel. We will complete our weekly vocabulary lessons. Students will begin their next writing project. They will be writing a narrative essay about being a passenger on the Titanic. Students have showed interest in the Titanic after working on their Magic Tree House project.
6th Grade- This week we will have a spelling test on Friday. We will read in our class novel. We will complete our weekly vocabulary lessons. We will complete grammar lessons this week and play catch up. We will complete our persuasive writing unit with a writing assignment.
7th Grade- This week we will read in our class novel. We will analyze The Raven poem while reviewing figurative language. We will read the short story The Gift of the Magi and complete a writing assignment based on the story.
8th Grade- We will complete our novel this week and begin a short writing assignment based on the novel. We will read The Veldt by Ray Bradbury and complete a short packet based on the short story. We will complete lesson 5 in Wordly Wise. We will complete reviewing Sonnett 18 by William Shakespeare.
