Welcome to Kindergarten at Our Lady of Fatima Parish School! I can’t wait to see all of those smiling faces and get started on our new school year.

During the first week, we’ll be focusing on classroom expectations and procedures. It’s important for students to settle into a routine so they are comfortable and ready to learn. I will use this time to assess what your children know so I can tailor our curriculum to their individual needs.

Our “Back to School Night” will be held from 4-6pm Tuesday, August 15. Students and parents will meet with myself and Mrs. Young as well as take a look around the classroom. Please bring in your child’s school supplies at that time so we can prepare them for use the next morning.

Keep in mind that the first day of school (Wednesday, August 16) will dismiss at noon, so please plan accordingly. Students will eat a snack brought from home, but there will be no lunch this day.

Here are some items each student needs to bring to school in his/her backpack daily:

  • Lunch from home; keep in mind that we cannot provide refrigeration or warming for student food.
  • A snack from home, preferably packed separately from lunch to avoid confusion.
  • A refillable bottle with water only. Milk, juice, or sports drinks can be enjoyed with lunch in the Parish Hall but will not be permitted in the classroom.
  • An extra pair of underwear and socks in a ziplock baggie to be stored in student’s backpack.

I’d be happy to address any questions or concerns at CNowlin@OLOFatima.org.

Let’s have a great year!
