5th Grade S.S

5th Grade students are learning about the regions of America and the states within them. This is a part of an ongoing effort to learn the states and their location on the map. All work will be completed in class so homework is not anticipated. All students are expected to come to class prepared with a chromebook, social studies binder, and something to write with.

6th Grade S.S.

Due to NWEA testing, I did not have as much class time as I had hoped last week and I will only see 6th graders for social studies twice this week. This time will be spent helping students on their projects and helping them where needed. They are continuing making their brochures/travel posters on their chosen city highlighting the five themes of geography. If they are not finished on Friday, they may be taken home for homework to be due on Monday. All students are expected to come to class prepared with a Chromebook and something to write with.

7th Grade S.S.

This week, 7th graders are learning all about Greek mythology, the structure and hierarchy of gods, and the lessons that Greeks learned from their religious practices and how these beliefs continue to shape western society today. Students will complete all work in class so homework is only anticipated if work is not completed in class. All students are expected to come to class prepared with their chromebook, social studies binder, and something to write with.

8th Grade S.S

Due to NWEA testing, I will only see 8th graders twice for social studies. This time will be spent learning about the European Influence of West Virginia. This topic will be introduced this week and will be gone over more in depth next week when we have a full schedule. All work is to be done in class so homework is not anticipated. All students are expected to come to class prepared with a Chromebook, social studies binder, and something to write with.
